"Turning"

JohnnyP grew up in the sixties in Laksevag in a family filled with music. His father sang, played guitar and accordion, and his mother played guitar and sang harmony.
It was often music by Hank Williams, Jimmie Rogers, Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette that rang out in the house in the Norwegian coastal city of Bergen. But when Johnny was 9, The Rolling Stones took over for him, and at the age of 12 Johnny gradually started picking on the guitar, now inspired by Bob Dylan, Donovan and Chet Atkins.
Then one day in the 70's when he came home and heard fantastic guitar-music from the TV, and it was Ry Cooder who played. That was the moment that really got him hooked on guitar playing. Johnny started writing songs early on, but then just intended for personal use.
But as years went by, raising a family and honing his guitar work and singing within the vibrant Bergen music-scene, the songs matured to be ready for the studio.
