Ella A
"Asi"
Ella A delivers a provocative song about empowerment and the relationship between sexuality and the Divine
After a hectic start of 2023 participating on Norway's Eurovision (Melodi Grand Prix) with a spicy show and praised by the critics, Ella is back for more with her follow up single "Asi". You might want to call it irony, or pure destiny. But although the track was written nearly 3 years ago, the song is written by Adelen Rusillo, Tooji and Ella A. All known ex-MGP participants, Tooji being one of the winners.
"Asi" is a provocative song about empowerment, the critics that come with it and the relationship between sexuality and the Divine. About the women who know what they want and ask for it specifically, both sexually and professionally. Women who chase their career and dreams, will often be associated with the words "materialistic" and "superficial"... Expected to be ashamed. Why is that so? What is so provocative and wrong with not following the masses being able to say "I want it like THIS"? And why is it so more provocative depending on your sex, social status, skin color and sexual preference?
The Music Video was filmed in one of Norway's most renowned museums "Vigelandsmuseum", to highlight the parallel between human bodies, sexuality and art. This museum is known for its white sculptures of naked bodies in daily activities and clean looks. Co-produced and co-directed by Ella herself with one of Norway's most skilled and creative film makers "Canvas RAW", this video is certain to provide Ella's most artistic and elegant video so far.
Although female empowerment and sexuality have been a constant theme for Ella. We might say "Asi" is, visually, "Criminal's" white swan twin . In contrast with "Criminal", that brings Ella and her dancers in heavy make-up, dark looks, and a more "masculine" choreography... "Asi" will show Ella's more "angelic" and "clean" side, also highlighting through her dancers and the choreography those who have inspired Ella's art and supported her the most : women and the LGBTQI+ community and the femininity in all sexes. The entire concept will bring something new and unique to Ella's fans and the public. The outfits will also resemble this simplicity and elegance, with the "dirty" coming through one of the outfits loaned to the project by an up and coming Italian designer brand named "Taste of Moon", whom Ella is a big fan of.
In its entirety, this marks Ella's first release and official aiming towards the Spanish market since her participation in ESC, where Ella got extensive support from Latin and Spanish fans, especially from the LGBTQI+ community. And the big question is, what haven't they seen yet?
